Privacy Policy

SayHello · last updated 4 August 2026

SayHello is a messaging app. This policy explains exactly what it stores and why.

What we collect

What we do not collect

How it is stored

Messages and profiles are stored on our own server, reached over HTTPS. Sign-in is handled by Firebase Authentication and notifications by Firebase Cloud Messaging, both operated by Google.

Messages are not end-to-end encrypted. They are encrypted in transit, but stored in plain text on the server, so whoever administers that server can read them. Please do not use SayHello for confidential information.

Deleting your data

Open Profile in the app and choose Delete account. That immediately and permanently removes your profile, your messages and your device tokens. Nothing is retained and it cannot be undone. Full instructions, including for people who no longer have the app installed, are on the account deletion page.

Children

SayHello is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it.
